Gather Affiliate Program

Thank you for your interest in becoming a Gather: The Foraging App affiliate! You can find the application form here, and below you'll find our general philosophy for the program as well as details of how it works.

We are only interested in partnering with people who will actually use Gather.

We want to work with people who see the value of our app and would be inclined to recommend the app to others, regardless of any commission incentive. We are not interested in partnering with people who are only looking to join more affiliate programs for financial reasons.

Our goal is that most of the app's marketing will happen through individual creators and educators rather than large tech conglomerates. We want to partner with people who are members of the amazing foraging community and who represent it well.

Overview of Gather's affiliate program

Attribution

When your application is complete, you'll be given both a URL and a code to share with your followers and students. These are how users will be attributed to coming from you.

If the user uses your URL, 90% of the time they'll be automatically attributed, but sometimes, especially if they use a VPN, it could be missed. That's where the code comes in, as they'll be presented with a screen before the paywall to enter your code. The user is incentivized to use your code because they will get a free month before being charged for the subscription.

Because of this, we attribute about every single download that should be attributed! (This is not the case for many other programs, unfortunately)

Commission

Affiliate commission is earned on the first subscription payment from new users. You will earn 40% for monthly-renewing subscriptions and 20% for annually-renewing subscriptions.

Because trials last for one month with affiliate links, there will be a delay of about one month in payment, as payouts are made on trial conversions, not on trials started.

After a trial conversion, there will be a 7-day hold period before your referral is marked as eligible for payout. This is just to catch refunds after conversions, as most happen within 7 days of the initial payment.

You will be able to see all of these statistics in your affiliate dashboard, so you'll have full clarity on how your referrals are going.

Payout

We pay affiliates through Stripe Connect on the first of every month for all referrals that have passed eligibility.
